An opportunity to own one of the premier motocross tracks in the Country.

Lise’ and I have made the decision to transfer ownership of Honey Lake Motocross Park. We are looking an individual or small group that shares our passion for our sport.

As you know, our vision for Honey Lake Motocross Park was to create a World Class motocross track while providing a “family environment” where great memories are made. My passion was derived from my youth and involvement in the sport, and I wanted to create Honey Lake Motocross Park for our community as well as the youth of our sport, with the emphasis being on fun, safe, and family. To that end I believe I have succeeded.

This year we celebrate our 11th season of Honey Lake Motocross, and 11 years of providing wonderful experiences for the thousands of families who have visited us since our opening in August 2001.

Why are we looking to step away?

Primarily, we are hopeful to see fresh energy, fresh ideas, and better utilization for what we’ve created.

Lise’ and I have much going on at this time of our lives (4 business ventures, 4 young kids, my recent election victory and new responsibility as Lassen County Supervisor and my passion to improve Lassen County) and as a result we feel we are not doing justice to the facility or the sport with our very limited time we have to devote to the facility. Lise’ and I would like to see someone take what we have started and expand on our success.

Honey Lake Motocross Park has a SPECIAL USE PERMIT allowing for up to 14 events per year. Due to our many other (personal and business) commitments, our typical season has us only running about 8 or 9 events per annum.

For the past 10 years we’ve hosted high profile events such as Loretta Lynn’s area and regional qualifiers as well as WORCS. We have hosted numerous industry events and new bike launches, shot television commercials for American Honda and hosted test sessions for most all of the factory race teams. The reputation of the facility is exceptional.

There is a huge demand for motocross schools at Honey Lake, as well as summer camps. We’ve been approached by most all of the major players who desire to rent the facility to host schools. The track is a draw that will attract students from afar.

There is so much that can be expanded on with this facility, and we hope the new owners of this special place will expand on what we have started.

Honey Lake Motocross Park is situated on a parcel of approx 150 acres. There are numerous options for a new owner(s) It would be a great opportunity for a group of owners to purchase, similar to a hunting club setup. The members would have an incredible place to ride with their families, camp and unwind. The motocross, off road events, schools etc. will certainly support the investment, and the group of owners / members could share in the responsibility of the events, while providing an incredible experience with their families.

We are building our home on another portion of our ranch that boarders the 150 acre Honey Lake parcel, and I personally would love to stay involved as a volunteer and assist in continuing bringing big events and industry to the facility.

What is most important to Lise’ and I is that our creation and contribution to the sport live on and be expanded on, this is more important to us than the price. Our selling price reflects a number that will be supported by the revenues the track will generate, and it leaves ample room for more investment in the future.

Some other points of interest:

The parcel that the track sits is zoned as such for a house, shops etc. etc. in addition to the track operations. There are some gorgeous home sites on the parcel.

The parcel boarders the 1.1M acre Plumas Forest, with hiking, or dual sport riding that is truly exceptional.

In the winter we usually get a good enough snow that the kids ski down the trails and we also snowmobile on the track. Our kids all started skiing at 3 yrs on the track and trails!

The area is abundant with wildlife and home to big Mule deer. The area is known for great Bear Hunting etc.

Reno International airport in a 50 minute drive from the track.

Basically it is a very special opportunity, and we look forward to witnessing many more great memories being made for many years at Honey Lake.
